Morris Island

From our Guestbook: the Morris Island Coalition has left a message regarding their ongoing battle to protect and preserve Morris Island from development. The group is working under a two-fold mission. First, their mission statement charges them with blocking the re-zoning of Morris Island. Currently, the 65-acres of the property proposed for development is zoned for two home sites. The coalition of groups believes that the 20 units proposed by the developer is an inappropriate request for such an important resource. Further, they are seeking a means to prevent the future development of Morris Island. The second step of our mission statement focuses on obtaining funds to ensure that there will be no more proposals to place septic tanks between the gravesites of our revered war dead on Morris Island. Please visit the website of the Morris Island Coalition: www.morrisisland.org .Sign up for their email list and spread the word!!!
